Bobbie Powell

President of Cascade BMA

Bobbie Powell is a dedicated leader, accomplished businesswoman, and passionate community advocate. She earned a degree in Business Administration from William Tyndale Bible College and pursued a master’s in organizational Behavior and Management.

Currently serving as the President of the Cascade Business and Merchants Association (Cascade BMA), Bobbie revitalized the once-dormant organization with the encouragement of the late Ms. Phillipa Brisbane. Taking the helm in 2013, she has since led Cascade BMA in fostering business development, beautification, and unity within the Cascade Corridor Area. Under her leadership, the association has introduced signature initiatives such as industry expert-led educational sessions and monthly community cleanup events. Bobbie credits her success to a strong board and advisory team, including Vice President Rich Wilkins and esteemed local leaders.

Her commitment to community engagement extends through strategic partnerships with the City of South Fulton District 1 Councilwoman, Dr. Catherine Foster-Rowell, and Atlanta District 11 Councilmember, Marci Collier-Overstreet, to drive corporate and social responsibility initiatives for a cleaner, more vibrant community.

A Distinguished Corporate Career

Bobbie’s professional journey began at Michigan Bell Telephone Company in Grand Rapids, where she started as a Directory Assistance Operator in 1973. Over a career spanning more than 33 years, she held leadership roles at Michigan Bell, Ameritech, SBC (Southwestern Bell), and AT&T. Before retiring in 2007 as Area Manager of four major call centers in the Detroit Metropolitan Area, she oversaw training, development, and performance for over 700 employees. She was instrumental in designing and implementing a customer service performance improvement package for the Midwest and Southwest regions, collaborating with Communication Workers of America (CWA) Union leadership to enhance service quality.

Entrepreneurship & The Golden Rule

As a businesswoman, Bobbie is the President of The Golden Rule Customer Service, LLC, an organization rooted in the biblical principle of treating others as one would like to be treated. Her company emphasizes kindness, patience, and exceptional service, inspiring individuals and businesses to uphold the highest ethical standards in their interactions.

Philanthropy & Community Leadership

Bobbie’s passion for service extends to philanthropy. As former Executive Administrative Assistant to ALL N ONE Security CEO, Mary Parker, she also chaired the Mary Parker Foundation Annual Scholarship Gala, successfully surpassing fundraising goals each year. Under her leadership, the foundation awarded scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 to over 100 students and organized annual Back-to-School Backpack Bashes, providing thousands of students with essential school supplies.

Her faith-driven leadership is evident in her extensive service within the church community. She has served as Co-Chair of the Women’s Day Committee at Metropolitan Memorial Baptist Church, board member and planning committee member for Christian Women in Unity (CWIU), taught Sunday School, and former Secretary of Ekklesia Fellowship Ministries (EFM). She has also worked in the children’s ministry, and continues to serve as a greeter and usher at The Love Center ATL.

Bobbie has been married to Clarence Powell for over 49 years. They are proud parents to Clarence and Ashley, and she lovingly welcomes her daughter-in-love, Tiffani, into the family. She cherishes her role as a grandmother to Jeremiah, Elijah, Caleb, and Dylan.
